What is the Testing & Innovation Scheme?

 

The testing and innovation scheme is an incentive to support you in the testing of new mailing applications.  


We want you to discover how you could make your Business Mail and Advertising Mail deliver even greater results.  For qualifying mail campaigns we’re offering you c30% off the access price (6.5p-23p) for Business Mail tests over a 6 month period and c15% off the access price (2.5p-10.5p) for Advertising Mail tests over a 6 month period subject to certain terms and conditions.


As an example of types of mailings which may be considered; you might want to test what the impact is of including messaging on your statements or fundamentally change the statement layout.  You may want to test a loyalty mailing to you highest value customers or introduce a ‘welcome pack’ to promote retention.  How you propose to use is up to you, we’re on hand to guide you on what qualifies as suitable test activity.


How does it work?


For Business Mail tests:

  • c30% discount off the access price (6.5p–23p) payable as a postage credit for qualifying test activity over a 6 month period
  • You’ll need to plan a series of mailings over the 6 months testing period and put in place a suitable process to measure impact and performance
  • Subject to successful testing activity the expectation is that the new mailing activity will be rolled out
  • For mailing activities which are rolled out Royal Mail will support for a further 6 months at a c10% discount off the access price (2.2p–7.7p) payable as a postage credit
  • As part of the incentive you’ll need to be able to share your results 
  • You’ll need to send at least 10k items.  A maximum of 10m items is in place for Business Mail
  • A Mailmark barcode must be used


For Advertising Mail tests:

  • c15% discount off the access price (2.5p-10.5p) payable as a postage credit for qualifying activity over a 6 month period
  • One off test mailings will qualify.  You may however, wish to repeat them over the 6 month period and continue to benefit
  • Subject to successful testing activity the expectation is that the new mailing activity will be rolled out
  • As part of the incentive you’ll need to be able to share your results 
  • You’ll need to send at least 10k items.  A maximum of 1m items is in place for Advertising Mail
