The testing and innovation scheme (TIS) is an incentive to support you in the testing of new mailing applications or testing changes to an existing mail campaign.
We want you to discover how you could make your Advertising Mail deliver even greater results. You may want to test a loyalty mailing to your highest value customers or introduce a 'welcome pack' to promote retention.
- Customers either test using mail for a purpose they have not tried before or test innovative changes to existing mail to improve its performance.
- Customers apply to Royal Mail, detailing the test that they wish to run. This can be a one-off mailing or a series of mailings for a period of up to 6 months, unless you are testing Mailmark Economy for the first time in which case the incentive period is until 25 June 2022.
- At the end of the incentive period, Royal Mail verifies the volume posted and pays the customer postage credits that the customer can use to pay future mailings.
Where you are testing Mailmark Economy postings for the first time, until 25 June 2022, you can use our Advertising Mail TIS incentive and earn 5% in postage credits on up to 500k items.
To participate you must submit your application by 10 June 2022.
From January 2019 we will no longer accepting applications to only test digital stamps with no other creative changes. We know digital stamps increase consumer open rates which in turn has the potential to uplift mail performance.
Whilst we hope customers will continue to try out the benefits of digital stamp the low risk involved in testing means we will no longer incentivise tests from January 2019.
Note: If we receive applications for a digital stamp test during December 2018 we will continue to support these applications but only for tests taking place up to the end of January 2019.
We are starting off with a focus on QR/Touch Codes and aim to have a forward plan of examples of innovation and emerging technology to promote and incentives, building case-studies across a number of sectors and applications.
Essentially it is a standard TIS coupled with a proposition. However, there’s an added bonus that we will offer the higher TIS rate (15% for Advertising Mail or 30% for Business Mail) for qualifying tests.
The attached slide deck explains the proposition and the incentive.
