On 7 January we wrote to you notifying of severe weather across various regions of the UK during week commencing 5 January 2026. which constituted a Disruptive Event under the Access Letters Contract (ALC) and Wholesale Parcels Contract (WPC), impacting on Royal Mail’s ability to meet some of its obligations to you in our ALC and WPC.

Further to this on 26 and 27 January 2026, Storm Chandra bought a spell of severe weather that combined strong winds and persistent heavy rainfall across the UK.  This additional bout of severe weather constituted a further Disruptive Event under the ALC and WPC, also impacting on our ability to meet some of our contractual obligations.

Due to the extent of these adverse weather events across January, our quality team continues to assess the operational impact. We will update you further on this in due course.
