ACCESS NOTICE: Covid-19 Open for Business Incentive
28-04-2020

On 6 May 2020 we are planning to launch a new incentive to support brands and sectors that have been most impacted by the restrictions on social movement caused by Covid-19. The incentive is designed to assist businesses with directly engaging with customers and prospects and to provide a much needed boost to their trading and advertising activity.

We have identified key uses of mail within the most impacted areas, which will be eligible for the incentive from the start. Over time, as the situation evolves, we expect to see other uses added to the eligible list, and maybe some removed as they are no longer relevant. We will, of course keep you fully up to speed, and value your input on where we could focus our activity.

So, for example, whether you are a high street retail outlet looking to drive customers to your website to boost online sales, or a charity seeking an uplift in donations*, under this incentive you can send Advertising Mail, Responsible Mail and Partially Addressed Mail volume to achieve postage credits to be used on future postings**.  Postage credit values can be found here

Please note, following feedback from  customers, we are looking at whether there are viable alternatives to postage credits and will update you in due course if we are able to offer an alternative method.  For the meantime, the method for paying postage credits shall continue to be as prescribed in our Incentive Framework Terms.

*Incentive eligibility criteria is published at www.royalmailwholesale.com/covid-19-incentive.

**Subject to terms and conditions. Wholesale customers will be charged at the current Access price, and incentive posting customers will be awarded eligible postage credits at the end of the incentive period.

When does the incentive launch?

Under clause 3.1 of the Voucher Redemption and Reimbursement Agreement we are permitted to launch an incentive on reasonable notice, unless we receive a reasonable objection from an Access contract holder within 5 working days of our notice, in which case we must then provide 70 days’ notice.

We are keen for UK businesses to maximise benefit from this incentive, so please accept this as reasonable notice of our intention to launch the incentive on 6 May 2020 running until 31 December 2020.

If we do not receive any reasonable objection by 5pm on 5 May 2020, the incentive will launch on 6 May 2020 and you may submit an application form from then. If we do receive a reasonable objection then the incentive launch will have to be deferred to 8 July 2020.
