We recognise that the UK postal market encompasses a wide range of different customer needs and so we have developed several different types of contract, the details of which vary a little. Prices and other terms, however, are the same for all types of customer for each of our services.

Customer Direct Access

Is for customers who are posting their own mail and that of a subsidiary. This contract enables a direct relationship between the sending customer and Royal Mail Wholesale with the following benefits:

• Dedicated account management team who will not only lead formal monthly review
   meetings but also pro-actively manage and develop the day-to-day relationship between
   you, your stakeholders and RMW.
• Provision of a management information pack containing unique information to enable
   customers to monitor and manage their mail activity, their stakeholders, and their costs.
• Access to RMW’s new service development team to discuss and develop solutions that
   meet its specific mail service requirements.
• Implementation support with access to RMW resource from operational, planning and IT
   teams expertise and specialist contacts within RMW.
• A nominated customer representative within DSACC who will act as your central point of
   communication for any operational aspect of your postings being handed over at any Royal
   Mail site.

Operator

This type of contract is designed for businesses that process and/or transport mail on behalf of third parties. An Operator typically sorts and consolidates mail of its various sending customers and hands over its mail to Royal Mail Inward Mail Centres.

The benefits of having a direct relationship with Royal Mail Wholesale, as mentioned above, also apply to an Operator customer

Agency Operator

This contract is an Operator contract with the additional feature of allowing an operator to act as an agent for certain posting customers, typically those who are VAT exempt. Royal Mail Wholesale invoices the sending customers (“Agency Customers”) directly.

The benefits of having a direct relationship with Royal Mail Wholesale, as mentioned above, also apply to an Agency Operator customer

From time to time there will be Agreement variation notices sent to contract holders for their agreement. Please see forthcoming variations below yet to be incorporated into the above Access Agreements.
