The following service option can be added to either of our Standard or Premium services:
Mixed Weight
Customers are now able to present items of the same format (Large Letter, A3 Packet or Packets) but of different weight bands in a single container (currently bag, tray or ALPS) subject to the usual maximum weight limit instead of having to use up to three separate containers per format for each of the different weight bands.
Customers create a separate discrete manifest for their Mixed Weight postings that will be uploaded to DocketHub and all other non-Mixed Weight postings will be uploaded to E*Pro in the usual way.
The Mixed Weight manifest will declare a container of mailing items of the same format by the number of items in each weight band, and for zonal postings this will also be by each zone within each weight band. DocketHub will translate this manifest into a format that can be accepted by E*Pro that breaks the container ID into the three weight bands and creates three separate pseudo/virtual containers in order to price the items.
Pricing of each daily posting will be carried out in the same way as now, just bringing together up to three containers into one and as one line on the manifest. Please see section 6.8 of the Access User Guide for details on how to present your Mixed Weight postings.
Existing Access customers will not need a new agreement. However, customers wishing to use this service will need to sign a Mixed Weight Schedule before a start date can be agreed. As always, please talk to us about the relevant lead times for your first posting.
