Customers can now place Large Letter, A3 Packet or Packet items of the same format but at different weight bands into a single container and post as normal (subject to the usual maximum weight limit). This saves having to use up to three separate containers per selection. Customers who have already expressed an interest in this service have been sent a schedule to sign,’ adds Graham Baker, Senior Service Development Manager. ‘They will also have received support from our systems team to get their systems ready. We’re putting as much support as we can in place to make this solution work.’ The key change for customers wanting to do this is that they must upload their posting details into Docket Hub using the Mixed Weight manifest, as well as sending in their forecasts via Docket Hub. Pricing of each daily posting will be carried out in the same way as now, just bringing together up to three containers into one and as one line on the manifest. Customers will be billed for the contents of each container within a posting. For example if the customer posts under the Access Standard 120 sortation service: 10 X A3 Packets within the 0-100g weight band, 10 X A3 Packets within the 101-250g weight band, and 10 X A3 Packets weighing over 250g (average weight of 375g), they would be charged as follows: 10 x 44.544p + 10 x 47.668p + 10 x 63.301p Total bag Price = £15.55* You can also speak to your Access Account Director who will be able to provide further details of the Mixed Weight specification. *Prices taken from 2009 tariff card. ![]() |
