The latest addition to our access services, Access 70, has been available since 27th September 2010. At launch, Access 70 requires customers to sort mailing items to 85 selections. (Over the next few years we plan to reduce to approximately 70 selections). Each Access 70 posting must comprise of at least 4,000 Mailing Items per day. We are offering the Access 70 option to maximise the volume of mechanised letter traffic provided to us in trays. This is part of Royal Mail′s strategic modernisation plan and provides clear benefits to our customers. Access 70 will improve efficiency for our customers in sorting, preparation and help to deliver cleaner mail. The service is for Letter format mailing items that are presented in trays, removing the need to bundle or bag. Overall, we anticipate the benefits to our customers to be fewer under-volume trays, reduced segregation, simpler data segregation, and increased tray fill with faster production. The service is available across all Access Agreements and may be used with the service options of Responsible Mail™ and Advertising Mail™. Access 70 service codes will automatically be added to all customers’ accounts from 27th September 2010 and a separate Agreement does not need to be signed. E*Pro and DocketHub systems will incorporate Access 70 OCR and Access 70 CBC as new Letter services. Customers wishing to use the new Access 70 services must sort using only the first 2 digits of the appropriate 5 digit Standard Selection Code (SSC) contained in the ‘MSORTAZ.DAT’ file that is part of the new Access Database 2010. Existing software either developed by our customers in-house or from 3rd party software suppliers will need the additional tier added in order for them to select and sort to these new services. Access 70 will be incorporated into the next review of the User Guides. For more information see our Service List or contact your account manager. |
